That&#8217;s according to a Trinity Mother Frances news release.  Hospital officials call the system a new state-of-the-art, high-resolution 3D mapping and navigation solution. The procedures were also the first in Texas, according to the release.  They were performed on December 15 at Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital by electrophysiologists John Sims, M.D, and Stan Weiner, M.D.  <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is incredibly exciting to be only the sixth hospital in the United States and the 10th hospital in the world to employ this advanced technology,\u201d said John McGreevy, Chief Executive Officer, Mother Frances Hospital Tyler and the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital. \u201cAdditionally, to be the first community-based hospital in the world to offer the Rhythmia system allows our patients the very highest standards of cardiac care available in the world today. The improvements in the clarity, efficiency and accuracy of the procedures is unrivaled and will offer a marked benefit to our patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hospital officials say the Rhythmia Mapping System allows electrophysiologists to collect and display signals representing the electrical activity of the heart. With the system, within minutes the physician can create and view a highly detailed map of the patient\u2019s heart to help determine the precise location to be treated with cardiac ablation, according to the news release.
