White. Unclaimed property representatives from the comptroller\u2019s office will be available to help people search for unclaimed property online, fill out claim forms, and answer questions from 10:00am to 6:00pm today at the HUB Center, 304 E. Ferguson St. in Tyler. \u201cThere is currently about $3.8 billion in the unclaimed property program,\u201d said Texas Comptroller Susan Combs. \u201cThat money belongs to Texans, and it is important that we get it back into the right hands.\u201d  <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>The comptroller\u2019s office reports that Smith County residents currently have more than $16 million waiting to be claimed.  The comptroller estimates one in four Texans has money waiting to be claimed. Unclaimed property includes forgotten utility deposits or other refunds, insurance proceeds, mineral interest or royalty payments, dormant bank accounts, and abandoned safe deposit box contents. To search for unclaimed property at any time, visit the comptroller\u2019s unclaimed property website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ClaimItTexas.org\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.ClaimItTexas.org<\/a> or call 1-800-654-FIND (3463).
