Public Information Office Kristie Brian said her department first got the idea to use Twitter to locate missing vehicles after attending a social media conference for law enforcement in May. Police personnel started their handle in June and have already recovered one vehicle through the program. <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>The new strategy has been spreading across the country to help police departments work more closely with the community. Brian said law enforcement is seeing success.  &#8220;It&#8217;s just another way to reach out to the public to get their help,&#8221; Brian told KETK.  The Twitter page also helps find trailers and other property that can be stolen in a similar manner.
