Shortly after 7:00 Friday morning, Smith County Sheriff\u2019s Office Dispatch received a 911 call regarding an object wrapped in carpet which was smoldering and lying in the road on County Road 371 just north of Farm Road 1252. A deputy advised the burned carpeting appeared to be wrapped around human remains.<!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Sheriff\u2019s patrol deputies and detectives responded to the scene as well as Justice of the Peace Mitch Shamburger. Authorities say at this time, the body has not been located, but Sheriff Larry Smith says he is a white male in his early 50s and is from Fort Worth. <\/p>\n<p>A second caller advised that she saw a white older model SUV near the scene of the burning object. The 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser was found set on fire Friday afternoon. It was discovered on Lavender Road just north of Interstate Highway 20. It is registered to a Fort Worth man. No human remains were found in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Larry Smith stated, \u201cIt appears we could potentially have as many as three separate crime scenes associated with this investigation. We have recovered only a small portion of human remains at this time, which appear to be remnants of the suspects cleaning up a crime scene which more than likely occurred within a residential structure. This is what the evidence recovered so far at the scene on Smith County Road 371 indicates to detectives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff\u2019s Office personnel say they are seeking assistance from citizens regarding any information they may have of the crime or a potential location where it may have taken place.
