It happened in the 1600 block of Whitney Street near the intersection of Neal Street shortly after 12:15 Wednesday afternoon. According to the Longview Fire Department, a man was repairing a dump truck when the bed fell on him. KETK reports safety bars were not in use when the accident occurred. After 20 minutes, authorities were able to pull the man from beneath the bed. He was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center. The man worked for the dump truck company, said fire officials.
