At 12:21 p.m. Friday, sheriff&#8217;s dispatchers received a 911 call from a woman at a residence on County Road 397 who reported that a man at that location had accidentally shot himself. According to a news release, Smith County Deputies and emergency personnel responded and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he was reportedly undergoing surgery for his injuries.  At this time, a preliminary investigation is underway to determine the exact cause and reason for the man\u2019s injuries.
