Officials say he was found in possession of over a pound of methamphetamine by a DPS trooper.  A jury in the 114th State District Court had earlier convicted Joseph Pierce, 35, of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. After deliberating Wednesday afternoon, Pierce was sentenced to 70 years in state prison.
