TYLER — McKinney-based State Senator Ken Paxton checked in Thursday with KTBB on his run for state attorney general in the March 4 GOP primary. Paxton says his platform relates to defending the state against federal intrusion as outlined in the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. “I think that’s become a critical role for the attorney general in this state,” said Paxton during a phone interview. “If we don’t push back on our 10th Amendment rights, the federal government will completely intrude, both economically and politically, into the state.” Paxton says a prime example of this has been his fight against Obamacare. <\/p>\n
Paxton has also served in the Texas House. He says he has been one of the state’s most conservative lawmakers, if not the most conservative — and he considers himself the most conservative candidate in the attorney general race.
