The agreement will allow dental hygiene students to pursue an Associate in Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene simultaneously, said Carrie Hobbs, TJC department chair and professor of dental hygiene.  The agreement will become effective for fall 2014 enrollment.  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>Hobbs said the dental hygiene profession is \u201cmoving toward a more professional model with higher educational expectations for critical thinking and decision-making abilities. These valued learning outcomes provide a solid base for careers in leadership, service, and education in an ever-evolving oral healthcare system.\u201d   A bachelor\u2019s degree will assist graduates in advancing in their chosen career field, she said.
