In a statement issued over the weekend to our news partner KETK, Brookshire&#8217;s says, &#8220;PFP Enterprises, LLC issued a voluntary recall this week for a specific lot of &#8216;Texas Meat Packers Seasoned Beef for Fajitas&#8217; due to possible contamination with E. coli bacteria. Several Brookshire Grocery Company stores in Texas including Brookshire\u2019s, Super 1 Foods and FRESH by Brookshire\u2019s were identified as those that had received some of the product which was packed in December 2013. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All product involved in the voluntary recall has already passed the expiration date of Jan. 13, 2014, but BGC stores have been instructed to be sure there is no possibility of product still in company stores.  <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;BGC officials encourage any customers who may still have this product with UPC number 0085411300189 and \u201cuse by\u201d date of 1\/13\/2014 to return it to their local store for a full refund.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Consumer safety is of utmost importance to Brookshire Grocery Company and encourages any customer to return product to their local BGC store if it is included in this recall.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the USDA updated the list of retailers who may have sold tainted beef to include multiple East Texas grocery stores.  PFP Enterprises, a Fort Worth, Texas, establishment, is recalling approximately 15,865 pounds of beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O103, E. coli O111, E. coli O121, E. coli O145, E. coli O26 and E. coli O45, the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Tuesday.  <\/p>\n<p>Friday, the FSIS stated they had reason to believe that the following retail location(s) received the beef products that have been recalled by the Texas-based company:<\/p>\n<p>    Brookshire&#8217;s &#8211; Statewide<br \/>\n    Kroger &#8211; Statewide<br \/>\n    Wal-Mart &#8211; Statewide<br \/>\n    Super 1 Foods &#8211; 2301 West Loop 281 &#8211; Longview, Texas<br \/>\n    Super 1 Foods &#8211; 602 Jefferson Park &#8211; Mt. Pleasant, Texas<br \/>\n    Super 1 Foods &#8211; 2610 Richmond Road &#8211; Texarkana, Texas<br \/>\n    Super 1 Foods &#8211; 3828 Troup Highway &#8211; Tyler, Texas<br \/>\n    Fresh by Brookshire&#8217;s &#8211; 6991 Old Jacksonville Highway &#8211; Tyler, Texas<\/p>\n<p>The following products are subject to FSIS recall:<br \/>\n    10.5-lb. boxes of Beef Outside Skirt Steak, with a pack date of \u201c12\/13\/13\u201d<br \/>\n    20-lb. boxes of Studio Movie Grill Beef Tenderloin Sliced, with a pack date of \u201c12\/05\/13\u201d<br \/>\n    15-lb. boxes of Preseasoned Beef for Fajita, with a use by date of \u201c1\/13\/14\u201d<br \/>\n    40-lb. boxes of Southwest Style Beef Skirts, with a pack date of \u201c12\/5\/13\u201d<br \/>\n    20-lb. boxes of Patterson Food Processors Beef Skirt Seasoned, with a pack date of \u201c12\/9\/13\u201d<br \/>\n    10-lb. boxes of Preseasoned Beef for Fajitas, with a pack date of \u201c12\/9\/2013\u201d<br \/>\n    40-lb. boxes of Preseasoned Beef for Fajitas w\/Binder, with a pack date of \u201c12\/9\/2013\u201d<br \/>\n    12-lb. boxes of Seasoned Beef for Fajitas, containing 6 2-lb. packs, with a use by date of \u201c1\/15\/14\u201d<br \/>\n    12-lb. boxes of Mexican Style Beef for Fajita, containing 6 2-lb. packs, with a use by date of \u201c1\/11\/14\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The products subject to recall bear the establishment number \u201cEst. 34715\u201d inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. The products were produced on Dec. 5, 2013, and distributed to retail stores and restaurants in Arizona, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, and Texas. FSIS and the company say they have received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of these products.  FSIS says it routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to ensure that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. The retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/recalls\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/recalls<\/a> &#8212; when available.
