It happened at 10:41 a.m. in the 1700 block of Frank Avenue when Lufkin Police were called to a crash in that area. According to KETK, upon arrival, officers found Randy W. Eckenfels, 28, of Lufkin, under the influence of alcohol with a one-year-old child in the vehicle. Further investigation found that Eckenfels had 94 pills of Carisprodol, which is a prescribed muscle relaxer, in an orange bottle issued to him. Police took a blood sample and are waiting for the results of that test to come back. The child has no known injuries and is now in the custody of his grandfather.
