The word came at a press conference at Peete Elementary School. The award will be presented at a reception for Southside March 6, 2014, at Willow Brook Country Club. &#8220;Southside Bank was selected for their outstanding contributions to the Tyler community and for being a role model for all aspiring business leaders and entrepreneurs,&#8221; said Steve Wiggs, regional president for Austin Bank and chairman of Tyler&#8217;s Junior Achievement Board of Directors. &#8220;Southside embodies the spirit of what JA represents as an organization, which is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy.&#8221;   <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Sam Dawson, president and CEO of Southside, added, &#8220;Southside Bank has been recognized for its achievements on statewide and national levels.  However none are more important than being recognized for our support and commitment to the local communities we serve.&#8221;  Southside was founded in 1960 and is the largest community bank headquartered in East Texas, currently operating 50 banking facilities in Texas.
