Officials with the Smith County District Attorney\u2019s Office say David Brice Hartman, 42, had earlier pleaded guilty. The range of punishment for the offense is 25 years to 99 years or life. State District Judge Jack Skeen, Jr., assessed the sentence after reviewing a pre-sentence investigation and arguments from the prosecution and defense.
