The message alerts the consumer that his or her credit card has been compromised. The call further instructs the consumer to &#8220;dial 1 for a security officer&#8221; and is likely an attempt to obtain personal and financial information, according to the BBB.  In a news release, the bureau&#8217;s Mechele Mills says the BBB has confirmed that these calls are fraudulent. Mills reminds consumers to verify the legitimacy of any call by hanging up and dialing a verified phone number for the company.
