KETK reports Joseph Eugene Copes, 39, of Lufkin, has been charged with assault along with seven Lufkin Municipal Court warrants. He was arrested after officers answered a call in the 1400 block of Briarwood Drive in Lufkin. A woman told officers the man had choked her and hit her with a shovel.
