It happened around 11:40 near the downtown square. Responding officers searched the area and located several subjects they believed to be involved in the incident. One person was reportedly in possession of a firearm and said to be responsible for firing the weapon moments earlier.  According to KETK, the suspect is Joseph Scott Mendoza, 22, who allegedly fired shots from a rooftop downtown.  Mendoza was booked into the Smith County Jail and charged with discharging a firearm within city limits and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
