{"id":278255,"date":"2013-10-01T16:19:17","date_gmt":"2013-10-01T21:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ktbb.com\/post\/?p=278255"},"modified":"2013-10-02T16:13:07","modified_gmt":"2013-10-02T21:13:07","slug":"arrest-made-in-hideway-theft-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ktbb.com\/post\/?p=278255","title":{"rendered":"Arrest Made in Hideway Theft Probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ktbb.com\/post\/?attachment_id=278263\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-278263\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ktbb.com\/post\/wp-content\/media\/2013\/10\/meador-150x150.png\" alt=\"meador\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-278263\" \/><\/a>TYLER \u2013 Members of the Smith County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Criminal Investigation Division served an arrest warrant Tuesday charging Christopher Eugene Meador, 44, with the felony offense of theft in conjunction with a 4-month-long investigation related to tree-cutting.  \u201cI want to clear up some confusion relating to statements that some individuals outside of the Sheriff\u2019s Office are making regarding this investigation,\u201d said Sheriff Larry Smith. \u201cThis investigation has been focused on an individual who happened to be employed by Hideaway and was by no means an all-encompassing investigation into Hideaway.\u201d   <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Christi Kennedy of the 114th Judicial District Court, relating to documents that were allegedly falsified regarding tree-cutting services Meador was connected with inside Hideaway, which is a gated community near I-20 in Smith County.  The allegations include that Meador, on more than one occasion, verbally contracted with an individual for sole rights to cut trees in the community, providing Meador received a portion of the money.   Meador\u2019s bond was set at $10,000, and he was booked in to the Smith County Jail.
