Carnes says he&#8217;s the only candidate for the post &#8220;who is a farmer, a producer and mayor of a growing municipality who understands what must be done in rural, urban and suburban Texas to keep our state sustainable, to avoid Texas\u2019 dependence on foreign lands for our food, clothing and shelter.&#8221; <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a farm crisis in Texas today.
