The current city attorney, Gary Landers, announced his retirement in May and plans to stay with the City until May 2014.   \u201cI am pleased that the new city attorney is someone whose legal knowledge and judgment I know and respect,\u201d said Landers. \u201cI look forward to her tenure as Tyler\u2019s City attorney.  The City is in good hands.\u201d  <!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Pullum began her career as the assistant city attorney with the City of Tyler on November 1, 2004 and then was promoted to senior city attorney. She has lived in Tyler since junior high school and went to John Tyler High School. She earned her law degree from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1996 after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&#038;M University with a major in business administration.  \u201cDeborah competed with a strong and diverse group from around the state and nation, and is clearly the strongest candidate and best suited to serve our organization,\u201d said McDaniel.
