LINDALE \u2013 Smith County Animal Control Officer Juan Dockens was bitten in the face by a Great Dane. Officials say it happened Friday during a routine call in the Lindale area. The dog was being surrendered by its owners. Dockens was taken to a Tyler medical facility for assessment and treatment. His injuries are said to be moderate, located primarily around his chin and mouth, and required stitches. He is now at home recovering.
