The center in Tyler was set to shut down next year but now, that\u2019s not the case. According to KETK, Louie Gohmert, U.S. Congressman of East Texas had a meeting with the District Manager of the U.S. Postal Service Dallas office Tuesday to discuss the closure of the Tyler facility this summer. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cToward the end of the meeting I said, well, Lufkin hadn\u2019t had heard anything in a while; I want to make sure they\u2019re okay, that there are no plans for them because they got an original closing being considered,\u201d says Gohmert. Gohmert tells KETK within 24 hours, \u201cWe get a certified letter that was sent before the meeting was even started, probably before they left Dallas, that says they\u2019re closing the Lufkin processing plant,\u201d says Gohmert.
