The commission oversees the Texas Department of Transportation. <\/p>\n<p>Named to the panel, subject to Senate confirmation, is Jeff Austin III of Tyler. Austin is vice chairman of Austin Bank Texas N.A. in Jacksonville. He is also a board member of First State Bank in Athens and Capital Bank in Houston, and past president of First State Bank in Frankston. He is a member of the American Bankers Association Government Relations Committee and Bank CEO Network, and past board member and past chairman of the Texas Bankers Association. He is a member of The University of Texas at Tyler Health Center Development Board, presiding officer of the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority, and a board member and past president of the East Texas Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
