According to the Smith County Department of Public Safety, the crash took place at mile marker 559 near Jim Hogg Road around 3:30 p.m. One of the semi trucks involved in the wreck was attempting to get back onto the interstate from the shoulder when another 18-wheeler hit the vehicle from behind.  KETK reports traffic began flowing again at around 5:15 p.m.   No major injuries were reported.
