Effective April 1, it&#8217;ll be called the #5 Purple Route.  City officials say the move was made to lessen confusion regarding the Red Routes that travel north and south on Broadway Avenue and through the Medical District.  The #5 Purple Route will still travel through the Medical District on Beckham Avenue.  It will also keep the same bus stops and bus stop times. The only change will be the number and color of the route.
