The Texas Workforce Commission reports Tyler&#8217;s jobless figure in January was 7.2%. A year ago it was 7.8%. Longview&#8217;s unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.2%. For Texas, January&#8217;s unemployment rate rose slightly to 6.3%. But that&#8217;s almost a full point lower than in January of last year.
