A petition with 2,206 verified voter signatures was recently turned in to the Smith County Elections Office, according to Elections Administrator Karen Nelson. A total of 1,835 were needed for consideration. KETK reports the petition will now go before the Commissioner\u2019s Court on March 19. If the court approves, voters will decide in November if the sale of beer and wine for off premise consumption will be allowed in portions of the precinct that lie outside the Tyler city limits.
