Smith County Sheriff\u2019s got a call about a home invasion in the Pine Trail Shores area in Flint around 1:30 Saturday morning. The Smith County Sheriff\u2019s office spoke with KETK and said the homeowner was not home when the intruder entered. The homeowner saw the intruder in his house and started stabbing him with an unknown object. The intruder will be charged with burglary when he is released from the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Larry Smith says homeowners have the right to protect themselves and their home if they suspect there life or the life of someone else is in jeopardy. Even if they need to use deadly force to protect themselves. Sheriff Smith says in some rural parts of the county, deputies try to respond as quickly as possible. But if someone is breaking into your house, you need to be prepared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t be immediately there if someone is breaking into your house.
