Now in its second year, the festival has expanded from 2011&#8242;s one-day event. Organizers call it a week of promoting peace through creative and community enriched activities. The local event is in celebration of the International Day of Peace, established by the United Nations in 1981. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe expectation is to see Tyler citizens getting involved in the activities, which include art, films, storytelling, a Peace Meal, live music, prayer and worship,\u201d according to Festival organizers. The Literacy Council of Tyler is the 2012 peace concert beneficiary.
