According to KETK, one doctor sent inappropriate messages to a patient. Another failed to monitor a patients narcotics intake, resulting in an overdose. And the third doctor failed to follow up on an abnormal chest x-ray, in which the patient was later diagnosed with lung cancer. Tyler physician Dr. Hope Short says the Medical Board of Examiners holds doctors accountable to the highest standards.  She says,  &#8220;It&#8217;s extremely important. We are going to be held to a different standard because of how we are held and looked at in the community by our patients.
