DPS says the logging truck was pulling onto Highway 59 at Farm Road 2782, about halfway between Lufkin and Nacogdoches, when it was struck on its side by the other vehicle. The victim has been identified as Catarino Perez of Diboll, 56. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the logging truck, Jerome Bryant, 37, was not injured.
