LONGVIEW — While the government says school buses are the safest mode of transportation for students, it\u2019s been a dangerous past few months for buses in East Texas. At least five recent area bus crashes have landed children and drivers in local hospitals. According to KETK, from 2001-09, 1 percent of student traffic fatalities during school driving hours involved buses, according to the department.
