JACKSONVILLE \u2014 Late Monday night, around 40 mailboxes were destroyed on County Road 3108 by Lake Jacksonville. Cherokee County Precinct 3 Constable Eddie Lee tells KETK, he believes the vandals used their pickup truck. \u201cSome of the mailboxes like the wooden mailboxes, they\u2019re just driving right over\u2026if they\u2019re metal mailboxes, it looks like they\u2019re backing up to them and just bending them over,\u201d Lee said. The constable says many of the folks that live along the road are elderly\u2026and they get medicine delivered to their mailbox. Resident, George Douglas, says it\u2019s happened to him 4 times in the last year.
