(Photo by Jesse Grant\/Getty Images for Disney)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><em>Black Panther<\/em> has a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarvelStudios\/status\/2081223426232947101\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new star<\/a>.<\/p><p>David Jonsson is stepping into the role of the Marvel superhero for <em>Black Panther 3<\/em>, director Ryan Coogler announced during the studio's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday.<\/p><p>Jonsson will be playing T\u2019Challa\u2019s son Prince T\u2019Challa II, who takes up the mantle of Black Panther from his late father. His character was introduced as a young boy in 2022\u2019s <em>Black Panther: Wakanda Forever<\/em>.<\/p><p>Letitia Wright will be returning as Shuri and Winston Duke will be reprising his role as M\u2019Baku in the third film.<\/p><p>The late Chadwick Boseman played T\u2019Challa\/Black Panther in the first <em>Black Panther<\/em> film in 2018. He died of colon cancer in 2020 at age 43.<\/p><p><em>Black Panther 3<\/em> will arrive in theaters on Dec. 15, 2028.<\/p><p><em>Disney is the parent company of Marvel and ABC News.<\/em><\/p><p>Copyright \u00a9 2026, ABC Audio.
