\"\"SMITH COUNTY \u2013 Two people were killed on Friday evening in Smith County following a head-on car crash. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and our news partner KETK, the crash took place around 6 p.m. on Mixon Road and involved a Toyota Corolla and a Mercedes-Benz.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred after the driver of the Toyota, identified as Adam Frantz, who was driving northbound on Mixon, crossed into the southbound lane, causing him to hit the Mercedes-Benz head-on, according to officials. Following the crash, the passenger in the Toyota, Ashlee Frantz, was pronounced dead on the scene, while Adam was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Mercedes- Benz was also taken to the hospital, and their condition remains unknown at this time.<\/p>\n
