LONGVIEW — The skeletal remains found in a Longview creek bottom December 21st have been identified. Pathologists have confirmed the man’s identity as Silas Eugene Moore, 62, of Longview. He was reported missing in July. A wallet with Moore\u2019s ID was found at the scene. Authorities withheld the name until it was confirmed by the pathologist. <\/p>\n
The body was found in the creek bottom by a man and his son who were looking for minnows in the creek. Because of the condition of the remains, the cause of death has yet to be established. That could take months. But investigators say they do not expect foul play.<\/p>\n
At the time, police spokeswoman Kristie Brian said investigators found a wallet with identification in Moore’s pants pocket, but they were waiting on a positive confirmation of his identity from the pathologist. Fort said he had not received an official ruling on the man’s death, and didn’t expect one for a few months due to the condition of the remains when they were found.
