\"\"LONGVIEW – It\u2019s time to beat the summer heat in Longview with the city celebrating the grand opening of their new Stamper Park Family Aquatic Center on Saturday.<\/p>\n

According to our news partner KETK, the grand opening event featured a ribbon cutting, games and food as the public got to enjoy the city\u2019s newest pool, which is complete with two water slides, swimming lanes, a water basketball hoop and splash area that\u2019s perfect for the kids.<\/p>\n

The new aquatic center was made possible with funding from the city\u2019s general reserves and a $3 million grant\u00a0that State Rep. Jay Dean secured from the State of Texas. <\/p>\n

The $4.2 million project was built by Riley Harris Construction of Tyler and broke ground on Aug, 5, 2025, less than a year before the pool officially opened to the public this weekend.<\/p>\n
