\"\"TRINIDAD \u2013 Trinidad City Administrator Cynthia Dosier resigned from her position on Wednesday as the city continues to deal with their ongoing water system issues. Trinidad Mayor Dennis Haws announced both Dossier\u2019s resignation and the resignation of city employee Sandra Rojas on Wednesday. In a social media post, Haws said that he\u2019s contacted the Texas Municipal League (TML) for advice on how to work through these resignations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to make you aware that this will undoubtedly create some issues at City Hall as we transition through this and I apologize for any inconveniences,\u201d Haws said on Thursday. \u201cI have contacted TML this morning to get their guidance on working through this, we will seek interim staffing through organizations they are associated with so that we can have qualified individuals that can start working through issues immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dosier\u2019s and Rojas\u2019s resignations came after the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality recently found that Trinidad\u2019s public water system has three alleged violations, which were only found after multiple residents submitted complaints to the state because of unclean drinking water.<\/p>\n

The Trinidad City Council also recently voted to dismiss their city attorney and municipal judge Shella Bievens during a city council meeting full of frustrated residents.<\/p>\n

Haws also said on Thursday that he\u2019s rescheduling their next council meeting to July 21, since more issues will have to be added to their agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know this is more inconvenience on top of what our citizens have already endured, however, I assure you we will take the time to go through this process correctly and not rush into a decision,\u201d Haws said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
