BULLARD \u2013 A Bullard man was sentenced to serve 30 years in state prison on Monday after he was arrested for uploading pornographic images of children as young as one year old to his Google account in February. Dakota Reece was arrested after a Cybertip was received by the Smith County Sheriff\u2019s Office on Jan. 8 from Google Inc. The tip reported Reece had uploaded 61 files of child pornography to Google Photos in 2025, according to our news partner KETK.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll 61 media files were photos or videos of nude children ranging in age from approximately 1 year old to approximately 14 years old in provocative positions [\u2026] as well as adults engaging in [sexual acts] with children as young as 1 year of age,\u201d Reece\u2019s arrest documents read.<\/p>\n
Reece\u2019s phone was searched under a warrant on Feb. 2. Law enforcement learned from an email on the phone that their account had been disabled after it was flagged for containing harmful content.<\/p>\n
According to arrest records, Reece attempted to reset the phone and searched for ways to trade it in before he headed to a local store. Then on Feb. 5, the sheriff\u2019s office spoke with Reece, and he reportedly admitted to having the account before it was disabled but that he didn\u2019t know how any child pornography was on his phone.<\/p>\n
Reece was then arrested for possession or promotion of child pornography on that same day. On Monday, Reece pled guilty to the charge in the court of Judge Kerry L Russell and was sentenced to 30 years in state prison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
