Many times, people who want to surrender a pet only need time to get over a short-term financial hurdle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOver the years, more than 36,000 pounds of food and litter\u00a0from the Pet Food Bank\u00a0has\u00a0been distributed. All donated items go back into the community and are not used by the animals kept at the shelter.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Donations can be dropped off at the Tyler Animal Shelter, 4218 Chandler Highway, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The standard adoption fee for dogs is $120, and for cats, it is $80.
