JEFFERSON – A shooting in Marion County that left one person dead is being investigated by authorities. The Sheriff’s Office reports that following reports of a shooting on FM 248, one person was taken into custody at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday. Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jefferson Police Department, and Marion County deputies all arrived at the scene. Both the victim’s and the suspected shooter’s identities are still unknown. Xavier Lakeno Zachary has been identified as the suspect; he has been charged with murder and booked into Marion County Jail.
