He brings 5 years of experience\u00a0serving\u00a0as\u00a0the\u00a0District\u00a01\u00a0councilmember\u00a0from 2021 to 2026,\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0a strong commitment to public service and the Tyler community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his campaign, Hene emphasized the importance of building on the\u00a0foundation\u00a0created by\u00a0City improvement projects. His\u00a0goals include:\u00a0Investing\u00a0in infrastructure and public safety. Strengthening\u00a0neighborhoods and housing. And, building\u00a0opportunities for\u00a0the community\u00a0and\u00a0maintaining the\u00a0quality of life.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHene plans to\u00a0accomplish\u00a0his vision for a better Tyler by\u00a0continuing\u00a0collaboration between council members,\u00a0City employees, and\u00a0all of\u00a0his constituents.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cAccomplishments can only be produced by the sum of efforts from all supporters, employees, and residents alike. In order to\u00a0build\u00a0a\u00a0better tomorrow, we must\u00a0continue\u00a0the foundation\u00a0provided\u00a0by\u00a0yesterday,\u201d\u00a0is Stuart\u2019s stance on the attitude\u00a0he will carry over from\u00a0councilman\u00a0to Mayor.\u00a0His goal\u00a0has been, and will be,\u00a0to\u00a0ensure Tyler\u00a0remains\u00a0a thriving community for residents and businesses alike.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a lifelong\u00a0Tylerite, Mayor\u00a0Stuart Hene\u00a0attended Rice Elementary, Hubbard Middle School, and Robert E. Lee High School, then attended Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduating from Baylor, Stuart worked at the Texas State Capitol and consulted on local political campaigns before attending Oklahoma City University School of Law. He\u00a0earned a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Business Law, Financial Services, with\u00a0a concentration in\u00a0Commercial Law.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nToday,\u00a0Stuart practices law\u00a0as the\u00a0co-founder and partner at Tarry &#038; Hene, PLLC. He also serves as\u00a0the President of Prestige Energy Consultants,\u00a0a small oil and gas consulting firm he\u00a0operates\u00a0alongside his father, Paul Hene.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nStuart\u00a0currently\u00a0serves on the Board of St. Paul Children\u2019s Services.\u00a0His long history of civil service to the community is best exemplified by where\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0served.\u00a0Previously, he served on the City of Tyler\u2019s Civil Service Commission and the City of Tyler\u2019s Parks and Recreation\u00a0Board, the Finance Committee and Staff Parish Relations Committee at Marvin United\u00a0Methodist\u00a0Church, the Texas Bar Foundation\u2019s District 2, as the Director on the Board of the Smith\u00a0County Bar Association, the Law Day Co-Chair for the Smith County Bar Association,\u00a0and was an officer in the Smith County Young Lawyers Association.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nStuart is married to Sarah; together, they have two young sons and are members of Marvin UMC. In his spare time, Stuart loves to travel with his family, is an avid golfer, and loves to cook.
