MARSHALL \u2014 A Waco-based real-estate company has secured a contract to start landscape and renovation work at the former Marshall High School to transform it into a new lofts, they announced on Tuesday. After working with the city and visiting the site to take bids, Versatile Real Estate Company will begin its extensive work on the property\u2019s landscape and renovations to the building on July 6, the company said.<\/p>\n
According to our news partner KETK, the building will be restored and given a new purpose through Versatile\u2019s contract by creating modern loft residences and community gathering areas. According to the company, the soon-to-be Marshall Lofts \u201ccelebrate the character of the past while creating a vibrant, connected community for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
We are excited to share this wonderful rendering of what the old Marshall High School will look like once our project is complete,\u201d Versatile said. \u201cThank you to the City of Marshall and most of all the people who live in the community for your extreme patience, and enduring the experience of seeing the Historic site in its current state.\u201d<\/p>\n
The site is located on West Houston Street near South College Street. Based on the company\u2019s plans, the property is set to include an additional five buildings toward the back of the property.<\/p>\n
The company is working closely with the City of Marshall to ensure the property remains in compliance with city code. Versatile said they plan to be at the next New Town Neighborhood Association meeting in Marshall.<\/p>\n
