(Disney\/David Russell)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Paul Anthony Kelly is making the leap from romantic drama to psychological thriller.<\/p><p>The actor, known for playing John F. Kennedy Jr. in the hit FX series <em>Love Story<\/em>, will star in <em>The Housemaid's Secret<\/em>, Lionsgate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZc_I1Ghwk-\/?hl=en\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> Thursday.<\/p><p>The upcoming film is a sequel to <em>The Housemaid<\/em>, which was released in 2025.<\/p><p>Kelly will star as Douglas in the sequel alongside Sydney Sweeney, who reprises her role as Millie. Michele Morrone, who also starred in <em>The Housemaid<\/em>, will reprise his role as Enzo, according to Lionsgate.<\/p><p>Kirsten Dunst will also star in the film, with Paul Feig returning to direct the project.<\/p><p>According to a synopsis from Lionsgate, <em>The Housemaid's Secret<\/em> will see Millie \"taking a job keeping house for a woman she's never allowed to see \u2014 only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own.\"<\/p><p><em>The Housemaid<\/em> and <em>The Housemaid's Secret<\/em> are based on the<em> New York Times<\/em> bestselling novels of the same name by Freida McFadden.<\/p><p>McFadden's most recent <em>Housemaid<\/em> novel, <em>The Housemaid Is Watching<\/em>, was published in June 2024.<\/p><p>Lionsgate added in a press release that while<em>&nbsp;The Housemaid's Secret<\/em> enters production later this year, \"the studio anticipates adapting even more of McFadden's beloved thrillers from the world of <em>The Housemaid<\/em> in the years ahead.\"<\/p><p>Kelly was also recently announced as the newest cast member for the 13th installment of <em>American Horror Story<\/em>, premiering later this fall on FX and Hulu.<\/p><p><em>The Housemaid's Secret<\/em> will be released on Dec. 17, 2027.<\/p><p><em>The Walt Disney Co. is the parent company of FX, ABC News and Good Morning America.<\/em><\/p><p>Copyright \u00a9 2026, ABC Audio.
