(Kevin Mazur\/Getty Images for for TAS Rights Management)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>When Taylor Swift revealed that she'd written a song for <em>Toy Story 5,<\/em> she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZMKe2HOT95\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">noted<\/a> that she'd been \"a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now.\" And she proved it by showing up to the movie's premiere on Tuesday night with her original VHS tape of <em>Toy Story<\/em> under her arm.<\/p><p>But she wasn't just <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/thmb\/Famyw8yhaYz_KRCo5W9vIeEMK3s=\/750x0\/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(762x303:764x305):format(webp)\/tim-allen-tom-hanks-joan-cusack-taylor-swift-toy-story-5-premiere-los-angeles-061026-2-61427f7afbe448b78e3904a5941360e0.jpg\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">carrying it around<\/a> to prove her fandom; she asked<em> Toy Story<\/em> star Tom Hanks to autograph it for her. He did, as he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/videos\/entertainment\/movies\/2026\/06\/10\/taylor-swift-asked-tom-hanks-to-sign-her-toy-story-vhs-tape\/90486697007\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>USA Today<\/em>,<\/a>&nbsp;and then laughed, \"I told her she should have brought in the VHS machine so that we could have signed <em>it,<\/em> 'cause that could go into the Smithsonian Institute as well.\"<\/p><p>Separately, Tom told <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Variety\/status\/2064532197827399938?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2064532197827399938%7Ctwgr%5Ed1931d2c83b01b5e5b5486e5de4d2ab9ba6aa1f3%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fvariety.com%2F2026%2Ffilm%2Fnews%2Ftom-hanks-taylor-swifts-toy-story-5-song-top-secret-1236771018%2F\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a> that he had no idea Taylor had a song in the movie until the last moment, when, he said, \"They ushered us into a soundproof room and said, 'Tonight, at 9 p.m., the true end titles song is going to drop and it's by Taylor Swift.'\"<\/p><p>\"And I said, 'You guys kept this from us all this time?' We saw the movie and it did not \u2014 we had some dummy [song] in there, so they surprised us as well.\"<\/p><p>He added, \"That's like saying, 'By the way, Judy Garland is singing \"Over the Rainbow\" at the beginning of this' \u2014 that kind of thing.\"<\/p><p>And while speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1432818\/tom-hanks-marriage-advice-for-taylor-swift-travis-kelce\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">E! at the premiere<\/a>, Tom offered the following marriage advice to Taylor and her fianc\u00e9, Travis Kelce: \"The man must make the waffles on Sunday.\"<\/p><p><em>Toy Story 5<\/em> arrives June 19.<\/p><p><em>Disney is the parent company of ABC News and Pixar.<\/em><\/p><p>Copyright \u00a9 2026, ABC Audio.
