Facebook is facing the music in the new trailer<\/a> for The Social Reckoning<\/em>.<\/p>

The companion film to 2010\u2019s The Social Network<\/em> will tell the true story of young Facebook engineer Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison, who enlists the help of Wall Street Journal<\/em> reporter Jeff Horwitz, played by Jeremy Allen White, to blow the whistle on Facebook\u2019s questionable practices.<\/p>

Their work ultimately culminated in a 2021 expos\u00e9 known as The Facebook Files<\/em>, which exposed the inner workings and harms caused by Facebook.<\/p>

In the clip, we see the two going up against the social network giant, headed by Jeremy Strong\u2019s Mark Zuckerberg.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m a free speech absolutist and I\u2019m not the one who\u2019s lying,\u201d Strong as Zuckerberg says as he\u2019s accused of injecting a \u201cfire hose of bad information\u201d into society.<\/p>

The film was written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, who previously wrote the Oscar-winning screenplay for The Social Network<\/em>. It also stars Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen and Bill Burr.<\/p>

The Social Reckoning<\/em> hits theaters Oct. 9.<\/p>
