TYLER \u2013 As the May 2 elections approach, several East Texas School districts are asking their residents to pass school bond proposals to help expand facilities for students, repair campuses and more. \n Career & Technology Education (CTE) Facility
\n Agricultural Mechanics & Metal Tech workshop (3,500 SF)
\n Construction Tech workshop (3,500 SF)<\/p>\n
\n Four regular CTE classrooms (750 SF each)
\n Covered work area (2,250 SF)
\n Tool & materials storage and paint booth
\n Instructor workroom & restrooms
\n District Gymnasium
\n Regulation-sized court with two practice cross-courts
\n Boys locker rooms \u2013 Varsity\/JV (or visitor)
\n Girls locker rooms \u2013 Varsity\/JV (or visitor)
\n Coaches office & locker room (boys & girls)
\n Laundry, training room, and storage
\n Expanded foyer, concessions, and restrooms
\n CHIRENO<\/strong>
\n Chireno ISD has called for a $11.2 million bond to fund construction of a new elementary school, a new parking lot and supporting infrastructure for the new school.
\n DAINGERFIELD-LONE STAR<\/strong>
\n The Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD Board of Trustees has called for voters to pass a $45 million bond proposal that would fund a new elementary school campus, security improvements and more parking.
\n ELKHART<\/strong>
\n Elkhart ISD has called for a $27.5 million bond that would be used to fund the following items:
\n Middle School Additions\/Renovations
\n Renovation and expansion of the cafeteria and kitchen
\n New band hall addition with supporting space
\n Gym renovations
\n Library renovation to meet district educational standards for academic integration
\n Classroom space reconfiguration and modernization
\n Secure entry improvements
\n Exterior classroom windows
\n Site and Traffic Improvements
\n Address traffic concerns at the main campus for pickup and drop-off circulation.
\n Fencing and campus boundary improvements to improve safety and security measures.
\n Maintenance Project Renovations
\n Roofing
\n Finishes
\n Plumbing
\n Electrical
\n HVAC (Air Conditioning\/Heating)
\n Building Protection Systems
\n GLADEWATER<\/strong>
\n Gladewater has called for a $8.1 million bond to fund safety upgrades, new buses and improvements to their career and technical education facilities.
\n LANEVILLE<\/strong>
\n Laneville ISD is calling for a $8.5 million bond to improve facilities, safety and infrastructure across their district.
\n LUFKIN<\/strong>
\n Lufkin ISD has called for a bond totalling $140.25 million through the two following ballot propositions:
\n Proposition A
\n 21,000 square foot addition and renovation of the Career and Technical Education facility at Lufkin High School
\n Construction of a 10,400-square-foot Ag Barn at Lufkin High School with animal pens, wash bays and an arena
\n Updated security cameras and additional cameras
\n Weapon detection systems at Lufkin High School
\n Security vestibule updates
\n Proposition B
\n Construction of a new stadium at Lufkin High School
\n Installation of new locker rooms
\n New press box
\n New scoreboard and sound system
\n SPRING HILL<\/strong>
\n Spring Hill ISD has called for total bond of $20 million to fund new equipment and upgrades, through the three following ballot propositions:
\n Proposition A \u2013 $17,222,744
\n District-wide HVAC replacements
\n Purchase of new school buses
\n Purchase of new vehicles for safety and emergency purposes
\n Proposition B \u2013 $1,975,000
\n Upgrading the district football stadium
\n Installing new turf
\n Lighting and track resurfacing
\n Proposition C \u2013 $802,256
\n Equipping and improving the district tennis complex
\n Adding restrooms
\n Adding related infrastructure
\n REDWATER<\/strong>
\n Redwater ISD is calling for a $13.9 million bond through two propositions.
\n The $9.9 million Proposition A would fund upgraded district security, a band hall expansion, gym foyer expansions and renovations.
\n The $4 million Proposition B would fund stadium complex renovations like a new track, a turf field, drainage and fencing.
\n TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE<\/strong>
\n Tyler Junior College is calling for a $167.3 million bond to fund the following three projects across its campus:
\n A $64 million Workforce and Academic Building
\n A $54.8 million Student Success Center
\n A $32.9 million Student Safety & IT Center
\n WASKOM<\/strong>
\n Waskom ISD has called for a $35 million bond proposal that would fund the four following four projects:
\n A new Pre-K through 5th-grade elementary school building
\n Renovations in the high school\u2019s Career and Technology Education wing and renovations to the girls\u2019 locker room
\n Eight new district buses
\n District-wide maintenance and upgrades where possible<\/p>\n
