The open house served as an opportunity for the MPO to hear back from the community as well, taking in any feedback about their projects. One project discussed was the $17 million grant UT Tyler received to make pedestrian-friendly improvements.<\/p>\n
Organizers said it\u2019s important that taxpayers understand how tax dollars are spent, and the open house worked as a way to get information to the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is where everybody\u2019s tax dollars are being spent in the area,\u201d MPO Director Michael Howell said. \u201cThat\u2019s what the MPOs\u2019 plans are for is to let anybody from the public know how their federal transit, and transportation tax dollars are being spent.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
