In a surprise announcement, the East Texas Food Bank shared that an anonymous donor has matched the $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>The food bank estimates that the $20,000 contribution will feed approximately 100,000 families across East Texas.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This anniversary is not just about reflecting on where we&#8217;ve been over the last 10 years in Tyler but reaffirming our commitment to walk alongside our neighbors when they need us most,&#8221; said Jason Proctor, president of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. &#8220;By supporting the East Texas Food Bank and these local pantries, and by serving alongside them as volunteers, we are living out our mission beyond the walls of our hospitals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the financial contribution, CHRISTUS Associates will volunteer at each of the ten food pantries receiving food through the East Texas Food Bank, providing hands-on support and strengthening local partnerships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The recipient pantries include:<\/strong><br \/>\n*Community Care Food Pantry in Athens<br \/>\n*Manna, Inc. in Canton<br \/>\n*H.O.P.E. in Jacksonville<br \/>\n*David Powell Community Food Pantry in Lindale<br \/>\n*Rosehill Community Food Pantry in Mineola<br \/>\n*Rockhill Food Pantry in Chandler<br \/>\n*Swan Food Pantry<br \/>\n*PATH in Tyler<br \/>\n*St. Vincent de Paul in Tyler<br \/>\n*Winnsboro Community Resource Center.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is about making sure the families in our communities have the support they need to make it through a hard season,&#8221; said Andrea Wilson-Lobaugh, executive director of PATH. &#8220;That is why partnerships like this mean so much, no one organization can meet a need that is this big, it takes all of us working together to keep our communities strong.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TYLER &#8211; In celebration of its 10th anniversary in Tyler, CHRISTUS Health is honoring a decade of service rooted in dignity, integrity and excellence to the community with a donation to the East Texas Food Bank, supporting ten partner food pantries across the CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System area.
