PAYNE SPRINGS – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed crews recovered the body of a Mabank man late Friday night after a boating incident. Officials identified the victim as 42-year-old Sammy Matlock. His body was located around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night. According to TPWD, Matlock was not wearing a life jacket when the boat capsized.<\/p>\n
According to our news partner KETK, Matlock was one of three men were fishing on Cedar Creek Lake near Payne Springs on Thursday at around 10:30 p.m. when their boat took on water and capsized. Two men made it to shore and contacted emergency crews.<\/p>\n
