Cornyn edged out Paxton by just 1.2% in the March election, sending the race to a May runoff. Since then, he has added endorsements from 19 more Texas Republicans, including East Texas U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran, bringing his total to more than 500 current and former Texas elected officials.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m honored to have the endorsement of many longtime friends in Texas politics, who I have gotten to know during our time in office and with whom I\u2019ve been proud to work,\u201d Cornyn said. \u201cI\u2019ve always worked hard to earn the trust of our elected officials, so we can roll up our sleeves and work together for the betterment of all Texans.
